KUALA SELANGOR, Dec 14 — The state government has allocated RM25 million on JetPatcher machines, imported from the United Kingdom, to carry out pothole repair work across Selangor next year.

State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim said the patching work will be carried out by Infrasel Sdn Bhd on roads overseen by the state government, including those managed by local authorities and the Public Works Department (JKR).

“We have introduced several new initiatives for major road resurfacing works. For pothole patching, however, we will use JetPatcher machine technology, which has demonstrated positive and long-lasting results since its use began a year ago,” he said.

Izham added that the use of JetPatcher machines will cover five zones in Selangor, with RM5 million allocated to each for pothole repair work.

“Infrasel will carry out pothole patching work daily. The major resurfacing works will cost RM30 million, while the pothole patching work will be RM25 million,” he told the media after distributing RM670,000 in aid to fishermen through the Selangor Agropreneur Development Programme at the Hai Gang Fishery Jetty in Tanjong Karang yesterday.

On November 14, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced RM55 million in funds for the state’s Mega Road Resurfacing Programme under the 2026 Selangor Budget, an increase of RM5 million from last year’s RM50 million allocation.

Launched in 2023, the programme is part of the state government’s comprehensive plan to repair and maintain Selangor’s road infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Izham also announced that the state government will build a livestock auction centre in Olak Lempit, Banting, starting next year.

“The land is now available, and the construction process is expected to start next year. Similar to the Agro Auction Centre in Sijangkang, the facility will have weighing and bidding counters.

“This auction concept benefits both parties. We expect the livestock auction centre to start operations by the end of next year,” he said.
