SHAH ALAM, July 17 — The state government has allocated RM184 million this year to carry out road resurfacing and maintenance works across Selangor, said state executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim.
The allocation includes RM30 million for 51 projects under the state’s Mega Road Resurfacing Programme, while RM32 million has been channelled to local authorities covering 57 projects.
“The allocation covers road upgrading works under the Public Works Department (JKR), the Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS), as well as village roads.
“This initiative will accelerate the implementation of road maintenance works while ensuring safer and more comfortable road facilities for the people of Selangor," he said in a Facebook post after attending the INFRASEL 2026 Road Maintenance Works Balloting Ceremony at the JKR Mini Stadium on Wednesday (July 15).
Izham added that contractors intending to participate in the tenders must fulfil several eligibility requirements, including being registered with INFRASEL.
They must also hold valid registrations with the Malaysian Companies Commission and the Construction Industry Development Board, and have prior experience in road maintenance.
“I hope the successful contractors will carry out this responsibility with full integrity, comply with the prescribed specifications, and complete the projects according to schedule for the well-being of the people of Selangor,” he said.
