Tengku Amir Shah to embark on statewide Silver Jubilee tour

KLANG, Dec 11 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah will embark on a Silver Jubilee tour to all nine districts in conjunction with Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s 25th anniversary of reign next year.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government is honoured that Tengku Amir Shah will participate in the tour.

“Next year is a significant, meaningful year for everyone in the state as Selangor will celebrate the silver jubilee for Your Royal Highness’ 25 years as Ruler.

“Your Royal Highness’ government will endeavour to implement one infrastructure project in every district for a public facility, be it a new structure or an upgrade, for the benefit of Your Royal Highness’ people,” Amirudin said.

The menteri besar was speaking during the investiture ceremony held for Sultan Sharafuddin’s 80th birthday at Istana Alam Shah here today.

He also touched on Selangor’s hosting of the Malaysia Games (Sukma) and Para Sukma next year, after last hosting it 27 years ago.

“My team and I have allocated RM100 million under the 2026 Selangor Budget for the preparations and organisation of Sukma for infrastructure improvements such as the Selangor Aquatic Centre and training for Red-and-Yellow (state) athletes,” Amirudin said.

Sultan Sharafuddin was proclaimed ninth Selangor Sultan on November 22, 2001, after the death of His Royal Highness’ father, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj, on November 21 the same year.
