Exco among 98 recipients honoured at Selangor investiture ceremony

KLANG, Dec 11 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today presented awards and honours to 98 recipients in an investiture ceremony for His Royal Highness 80th birthday celebration here today.

The ceremony at Istana Alam Shah saw the Sultan accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz.

Heading the list of honours recipients was Sultan Sharafuddin’s daughter, Tengku Zerafina, who received the Darjah Kerabat Selangor Yang Amat Dihormati, Darjah Kerabat Kedua (DKII).

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Sunway Group founder Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Fook Ling received the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (SPMS) award, which carries the title Dato’ Seri.

Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) deputy chairman Tan Sri Mazlan Mansor, YTL Corporation Bhd executive director Dato’ Mark Yeoh Seok Kah, and Subang Jaya Medical Centre surgical consultant Dato’ Dr Anuar Onah meanwhile received the Dato’ Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (SSIS) award, which carries the title Dato’ Setia.

Sixteen recipients received the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Selangor (DPMS) award, which carries the title Dato’ or Datin Paduka, including Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Selangor Financial Officer Datuk Haniff Zainal Abidin, state executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail, Federal Court judge Datuk Azimah Omar, Universiti Putra Malaysia vice-chancellor Prof Dato’ Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, and Girl Guides Association Malaysia (Selangor branch) president Datin Seri Utama Johanna Adrina Raja Arshad.

Meanwhile, 17 people were awarded with the Darjah Dato’-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS), including Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail, Petaling Jaya Mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon, Royal Mosque imam Mohd Rashid Mahful, and renowned artist Yusof Ghani.

National bodybuilding athlete Ahmad Faiz Ariffin received the Darjah Ahli Kegemilangan Sukan Selangor (AKS).

Ten people received the Darjah Setia Mahkota Selangor (SMS), including Petaling Land and District Office officer Huzunul Khaidil Mohammed, Selangor deputy police chief Kee Hang Kee, and Selangor Social Welfare Department (JKM) director Azmir Kassim.

The Darjah Setia-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (SIS) was conferred upon 10 recipients, including YTL Power International Bhd commercial vice-president Dominic Hua Shi Hao and Subang Jaya district police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat.

The Darjah Ahli Mahkota Selangor (AMS) meanwhile was awarded to 15 people including Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, chief Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, Selangor JBPM Zone 2 chief Wan Syariman Wan Saleh, Selangor JBPM Zone 4 chief Shahrin Yusmar Mat Yusof, and Selangor JBPM deputy director Farid Asyhadi Assaad.

Private secretary to the menteri besar Mohd Izzat Latif and Selangor Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS) Agro Industri Sdn Bhd general manager Pongot Sajab received the Darjah Ahli-Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (AIS) with 13 other people.

Meanwhile, national tower-running athlete Soh Wai Ching received the Bintang Kecemerlangan Sukan Selangor (BKS).

The Bintang Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (BPC) was awarded to seven recipients, including Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) community affairs deputy director Ahmad Fahim Rosli, Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) management service deputy director Fikriah Mohamad Hilmi, and Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School senior lecturer Assoc Prof Arlinah Abd Rashid.

The investiture ceremony was attended by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and his wife Datin Seri Masdiana Mohamed, as well as state executive councillors.
