KLANG, Dec 6 — The “Wake Up and Make Up Klang” campaign continues to show positive impact, with today’s community cleanup and mural-painting event in Pelabuhan Klang town receiving wide participation from agencies, industry players and local communities.
The programme, held by the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) in collaboration with Port Klang Authority, was officiated by Klang Mayor Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain as part of a continuous effort to beautify and rejuvenate the town centre.
Hamid said the campaign’s success was driven by the support of hundreds of volunteers who joined the beautification and mural-painting activity, themed “Pelabuhan Klang Town’s Cleanliness, Sustainability, and Identity”.

Hamid added that the mural will be a new visual attraction that highlights Klang’s maritime identity, in line with the aspiration towards a green port.
He said the effort proves the campaign’s effectiveness in fostering a sense of shared responsibility towards the city’s cleanliness and appearance.
“This effort proves MBDK’s commitment to continue uplifting Klang’s image as a cleaner, brighter and more competitive city,” said Hamid.
