KLANG, Sept 27 — Preparations for the royal wedding of the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah on Thursday (October 2) are 95 per cent done, said Klang Mayor Dato’ Abdul Hamid Hussain.
The Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) is putting the final touches on beautification works along the main road leading to Istana Alam Shah, featuring decorative landscaping and lighting.
“On October 2, the road to the palace will be transformed with landscaped greenery and decorative lights.
“We are also placing flower pots along the route from the Federal Highway to the palace, and by night the area will be brightly lit,” he said on the sidelines of the launch for Malaysia Clean Up Day 2025 at Padang Chetty, earlier today.
Hamid added that MBDK has also installed lighting on the LRT bridge in Klang, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
To mark the occasion, Selangor and Malaysian flags will be raised across the royal city.
The council will also distribute 2,000 small flags to members of the public who gather along Jalan Istana starting at 8.30am on the wedding day, leading to the palace for the royal procession.
“We welcome the people of Klang to line the route and celebrate this historic occasion together.
“We hope that the wedding of the Raja Muda of Selangor will be blessed and proceed smoothly,” he said.
The wedding of Tengku Amir Shah to Cik Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz will take place at Masjid Diraja, Istana Alam Shah, on Thursday.
A Bersanding ceremony and Royal Banquet will follow on October 22.
