SHAH ALAM, Dec 4 — The ongoing Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF) 2025 has seen almost 4,000 Buku Kita Selangor vouchers distributed to visitors.
The Selangor Public Library Corporation's (PPAS) corporate unit head Zafrullah Aris said the RM20 vouchers, limited to 5,000 visitors, are given to targeted groups, particularly those from low-income backgrounds.
“Since the first day of the event, the response has been encouraging, but the voucher distribution is limited and only given to targeted groups, especially students.
“However, exhibitors participating in SIBF 2025 have begun offering discounts and attractive promotions to visitors,” he told Media Selangor.

SIBF 2025, taking place at the Setia City Convention Centre until this Sunday (December 7), was officiated by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
Organised by PPAS, the event features 400 booths for 200 local and international exhibitors from countries including China, India, Turkiye, Singapore, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This year’s special guest states are Guangdong, China, and Tamil Nadu, India.
Meanwhile, Rabak Lit publishing director Izzat Amir said several of their book titles will be discontinued to make way for future new publications.
“A number of books will be discontinued, but in conjunction with this event, we are producing a final special print run for fans. These will no longer be sold after this, including online.
“For this event, we have brought more than 60 book titles, including Rebel Playlist and Pemberontak Filem. Do not miss the chance to get these copies at SIBF 2025,” he said.

For Kualiti Books Sdn Bhd marketing executive Mohd Izzat Azizi Mohd Azahari, aside from activity books, three comic titles are being featured specifically for children.
“The three comics we brought are Ejen Ali, Mobile Legends, and Sherlock Holmes. Ejen Ali is one of the main attractions, and the publication of these comics is part of our efforts to encourage children to read,” he said.

Meanwhile, visitor and civil servant Nur Idayu Rosli, 35, said she and her husband took special leave to bring their five children to the fair to get books they enjoy.
“The children told us last month that they wanted to come to the book fair, so my husband and I decided to take leave because they all love reading.
“This is my first time attending, and it is very exciting as there is such a wide variety of books available, and the children are happy,” she said.
