SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — The Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF) 2025, which begins tomorrow at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC), is expected to attract over 300,000 visitors.

Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) corporate unit head Zafrullah Aris said the fair, which runs until December 7, will feature around 400 booths with more than 200 local and international exhibitors.

SIBF 2025 will also serve as a business-to-business (B2B) platform for publishers, distributors, and players in the local and international book industry.

“Around 14 countries are involved, including China, India, Turkiye, Singapore, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. This year’s special invited states are Guangdong, China, and Tamil Nadu, India,” he told Media Selangor.

Meanwhile, 5,000 school and university students will receive KitaSelangor Book Vouchers during SIBF 2025 worth a total of RM100,000.

He said the funds from the state government will be given to select students, particularly those from low-income families.

PPAS is also working with the Selangor State Education Department (JPNS) and the service centres of state constituencies to identify eligible recipients.

“We have already determined the recipients based on data from JPNS and the state constituencies service centres. Eligible recipients may spend the vouchers at SIBF,” said Zafrullah.

He added that visitors to the fair can win a daily lucky draw worth RM500, with 10 winners selected each day.

Every purchase worth RM30 qualifies for one entry, while the winners will be announced at 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

SIBF 2025, organised by PPAS, runs from 9am to 10pm daily, and features talks by authors, creative workshops, and family activities, making it a must-visit destination for book lovers and knowledge enthusiasts.
