SHAH ALAM, Nov 20 — Selangor is considering a proposal for a children’s sports development masterplan, including for pushbike, to harness the state’s young talent.
State executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the suggestion would be discussed with the Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS).
“Pushbike is growing in Selangor, especially among schoolchildren. We will discuss with MSNS to develop a children’s sports plan, including for pushbike.
“On aid for young talent, I will discuss it with MBI (Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated)) to sponsor those who make Selangor proud,” he added.
Najwan was answering a supplementary question from Sementa assemblyman Noor Najhan Mohamad Salleh during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.
He also said the state government doesn’t yet have plans to build tracks or special training areas for pushbike.
“Local authorities have provided public parks, cycling tracks and fields that can be used for this activity.
“However, all safety needs will be sure to be met at every pushbike programme,” Najwan said.
