SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — The Selangor Special JobCare Career Carnival that will take place next year will give focus to jobs related to artificial intelligence (AI) and technical and vocational skills (TVET).
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman said this will help job seekers to get better paying jobs and also address the state's need to bolster up the related industries.
"The direction for next year is to focus on well-paying jobs that will guarantee people comfortable lives. Hopefully, we will get a good allocation to see this through," he said.
"If Selangor youths can land quality jobs in AI or TVET, they can be guaranteed a good pay. We will try to get the right companies and industries to join our carnival," he told Media Selangor.
Papparaidu also wants to work with the Ministry of Human Resources to make sure that more job seekers can get the most out of the carnival.
The Selangor Special JobCare Career Carnival that began on April 19 will visit all nine districts in the state and offer a total of 40,000 work positions, including for the disabled (OKU) and former inmates.
It is jointly organised by the Selangor Social Security Organisation (Socso) and offers jobs from the building, marketing, health, travel, transport, and service and hospitality sectors.
The current edition at the Shah Alam Convention Centre has 6,000 jobs on offer.
