JobCare Career Carnival visits PJ on April 25 with 4,000-5,000 vacant roles

SHAH ALAM, April 19 — More than 70,000 jobs, including high-salaried roles, will be offered under the Selangor JobCare Career Carnival this year, said state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman.

The latest edition of the roadshow, which visits each district, will be held in Petaling on April 25 at the Curve in Mutiara Damansara, with 4,000 to 5,000 jobs on offer from around 50 employers, he said.

He added that the nine-district tour, which includes two exclusive editions — JobCare Premium and JobCare Special — is set to draw local and international employers and offer the people even more positions.

“Last year, we offered 70,000 jobs, more or less, so for this year we would probably go further than or around that figure.

“This includes JobCare Premium, which offers high-earning jobs such as in AI, IC design, and aerospace, which would be held in June or July.

“JobCare Special is scheduled for October and will offer jobs to vulnerable groups such as OKU and senior citizens,” Papparaidu told Media Selangor.

According to him, the services sector is still the main contributor of jobs through the carnival, followed by the manufacturing, construction, and plantation sectors.

“Trends now show many workers changing fields and upskilling to fulfil current market needs.

“This is what I saw at the JobCare tour in Banting, where many youth who also hail from beyond Selangor proved this programme is bringing benefits to many.

“No matter where they come from, here, they can learn about jobs available on the market now, or for those who lost their jobs, we open this many opportunities… showing a trend of exchanging advice.

“There are also those who learn to supplement or improve their skills after joining this programme, so they are ready, have upskilled themselves to a higher level, and such,” he added.

Previously, he said the state government is committed to ensuring the people remain employed and are not burdened by effects of the West Asia conflict.

Papparaidu explained that Selangor will continue holding the JobCare Career Carnival to ensure the people’s survival and earning opportunities.
