BANTING, April 11 — The state government is intensifying efforts to strengthen the labour market and expand employment opportunities by organising the Jelajah JobCare Carnival 2026 in all districts in the state this year, with Kuala Langat serving as the launch location.
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman said the initiative aims to improve job matching between employers and job seekers.
The Jelajah JobCare Carnival will be held in all nine districts in the state, alongside two additional editions featuring special concepts and high-end job opportunities to further broaden access, including for vulnerable groups.
“Today, 30 employers are participating, offering competitive salaries, with some positions, particularly at the management level, reaching up to RM12,000,” he said during a media conference after launching the carnival at MCS College today.
Approximately 4,348 job opportunities across various sectors are being offered, reflecting steady demand for manpower in Selangor.

Papparaidu added that the physical carnival format enables direct engagement between employers and job seekers, helping to accelerate the recruitment process.
He emphasised that continuing the programme across districts is crucial to ensuring the labour market remains dynamic and responsive to current industry needs.
“Improved job matching can increase incomes and indirectly contribute to reducing the state’s poverty rate,” Papparaidu said.
He noted that key challenges include job losses and income instability, which can impact household well-being.
“The self-employed are encouraged to contribute to the Social Security Organisation as a form of protection in the event of incidents affecting their income.
“Income stability is also a critical factor in ensuring sustainable participation in the state’s workforce,” Papparaidu said.
The second edition of the JobCare 2026 Jelajah Carnival will take place in Petaling Jaya at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, as part of efforts to further widen access to employment opportunities for the public.
