SUBANG JAYA, Oct 25 — The 2026 Selangor Budget will focus on new programmes for education and poverty eradication to ensure residents’ growth aligns with the state’s development, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said both aspects are important needs in line with the administration’s goal to ensure the people enjoy inclusive, balanced progress.
“This is among the programmes in next year’s budget. There are two, three new programmes for education and poverty eradication. God willing, I am working on the budget text.
“The budget, or its pluses, is complete. I believe it will help with residents’ needs and ensure the people move alongside development and their own direction,” he added when met after he officiated the AYER Community Cleanup event, held in conjunction with Malaysia Environment Day, in Puchong today.

The state government launched Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) in 2022 to eradicate poverty. Through the scheme, low-income households get RM300 per month for two years.
On October 10, the menteri besar said the education sector would receive the largest allocation in the 2026 Selangor Budget to implement technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programmes in secondary schools.
Amirudin said the move shows the state government’s commitment to strengthen the education system and produce a future generation sufficiently skilled to fulfil industry needs.
