SHAH ALAM, Oct 24 — The 2026 Selangor Budget will prioritise upgrade projects aimed at addressing flood issues for the benefit of the people, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the projects' implementation aligns with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement, in which RM2.2 billion has been allocated for 43 high-priority flood mitigation plans (RTB) under Budget 2026.
“Some projects will continue, including RTB Sungai Buloh Phase Two, while additional focus will be given to tributaries, drainage, and sewerage systems to address flooding,” he said during the State Disaster Management Squad's flag-off ceremony at the State Secretariat Building's square today.
Amirudin also announced that the 2026 Selangor Budget will be tabled on November 14, with emphasis on welfare and empowerment programmes for all communities, including the Indian community.
When tabling Budget 2026 in the Dewan Rakyat on October 10, Anwar said that RM2.2 billion had been allocated to continue 43 high-priority flood mitigation projects, including RTB Sungai Buloh Phase Two.
Other RTB projects mentioned include RTB Sungai Mengkibol, Mukim Kluang, Kluang, and RTB Sungai Chaah, Segamat in Johor, as well as RTB Sungai Temin/Bata, Kubang Pasu in Kedah.
