SHAH ALAM, Oct 19 — Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) has received top recognition as the recipient of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (NCOSH) 2024 Award in the Mining and Quarrying category.
The award was presented by Human Resources deputy minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad at a ceremony held on October 17 at the Mövenpick Hotel and Convention Centre KLIA, recognising best practices in occupational safety and health within the high-risk sector.
KSSB’s acting chief executive officer, Mohd Bazli Kamin, accepted the award on behalf of the company, which symbolises the success of ongoing efforts to cultivate a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment.
In a Facebook post, the state agency described the recognition as proof of its unwavering commitment to continuously enhance occupational safety and health standards.
KSSB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, was established on September 26, 2008, to manage and oversee the state’s mineral resources development and road maintenance.
The company plays a key role in ensuring the state’s natural resources are utilised optimally and transparently, in line with the state government’s sustainable development policies.
Since its inception, KSSB has implemented various digital monitoring and management systems to improve operational efficiency and integrity.
Receiving the NCOSH award is also said to reflect the effectiveness of KSSB’s safety policies and sets a benchmark for other companies in the sector.
The NCOSH 2024 ceremony also brought together various agencies and industry-related companies to celebrate excellence in occupational safety and health nationwide.
