SHAH ALAM, June 19 — Kumpulan Semesta Sdn Bhd (KSSB) recorded 21.5 million work hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) as of the second quarter of the year, underscoring enhanced safety culture among its employees and contractors.
KSSB chief executive officer (CEO) Nizran Noordin said the achievement represents about 95 per cent of the company’s target.
“This achievement reflects a safety culture that is becoming increasingly embedded among KSSB employees and contractors, while also serving as a motivation to continue enhancing safety standards in the future,” he said at the KSSB Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) Day celebration at Wisma PKPS here on June 10.
The event, organised in conjunction with the World Safety and Health at Work Day, carried the theme “Let’s Ensure a Healthy Psychosocial Work Environment”.
It was officiated by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, Group Strategy Division and Corporate Services Division head Muhammad Hudhaifa Ahmad. Also present was Infrasel Sdn Bhd CEO Mohamed Fariz Ghazali, who jointly officiated the launch of KSSB OSHE Day 2026.
In his speech, Nizran said KSSB’s OSHE Day is in line with the state government’s commitment to ensuring everyone in the workplace is entitled to a safe environment that is free from injury and accident risk.
“Efforts to cultivate a strong occupational safety and health culture must continue consistently in order to safeguard employee well-being and enhance organisational productivity,” he said.
The celebration also featured a variety of activities, including exhibitions on occupational safety, health and environmental management, knowledge-sharing sessions with invited agencies, and award presentations to employees and contractors who contributed to the achievements and recognition of KSSB as well as its subsidiaries.
The event reflected KSSB’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, healthy and harmonious workplace culture, in line with its aspiration to create a work environment conducive to supporting its workforce’s physical and mental well-being.
