KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 — Exhibitors participating in the Selangor Aerospace Summit (SAS) will be brought on board the state’s job recruitment tour next year.
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman said the initiative aims to provide high-income job opportunities for Selangor's residents, per the state government’s aspirations.
“Previously, there were discussions on involving aerospace companies in the Jobcare Tour because this industry is capable of offering high salaries.
“Therefore, we will hold further discussions with Invest Selangor to ensure that companies participating in this year’s summit also join the tour next year,” he said after attending a dialogue session at the Selangor Aerospace Summit today.
Speaking at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Papparaidu also urged students to seize opportunities to explore the aerospace industry.
“The aerospace sector encompasses various fields, and opportunities like this are rare, as the summit features dozens of international companies,” he said.
The Jobcare Tour, organised in collaboration with the Social Security Organisation (Socso), is an initiative of the Selangor Workers Empowerment Unit (UPPS) under the Selangor Workers Empowerment Committee.
The programme focuses on assisting B40 individuals who lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic in securing alternative income sources and new employment opportunities.
Recently, the Selangor Special Jobcare Career Carnival at the Shah Alam City Council Convention Centre (MBSA) offered over 6,000 job vacancies across various industries.
