SHAH ALAM, Oct 1 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the reform agenda through the Selangor State Governance and Service Delivery Reform Framework (RSTU) introduced by the state government.
Its mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon said the RSTU implementation serves as a key driver in strengthening the efficiency, transparency, and integrity of the public service delivery system.
“The eight main components are governance and integrity, service delivery reform, breaking down silos, complaints reform, resilient human capital, grassroots empowerment, programme monitoring, and outcome-based evaluation, which are aimed at ensuring more efficient services.
“It also emphasises the need to make the principle of reform — namely efforts to improve existing systems — the foundation of government services to strengthen public confidence,” he said during MBPJ’s full board meeting yesterday.
Zahari added that this approach ensures MBPJ remains relevant in strengthening the governance system, in line with the principles of good governance, transparency, and integrity.
On August 4, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari introduced the RSTU, which focuses on eight key components aimed at enhancing the efficiency, speed, and effectiveness of public services.
He said the initiative is driven by comprehensive strategic measures, including system improvements, structural strengthening, and role empowerment at all levels.
