SHAH ALAM, Sept 29 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today has decreed that only one road be closed for Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah’s wedding on October 2.
The Ruler, in a statement posted to the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page today, said His Royal Highness ordered police to only block off Jalan Istana from 8am to 10am for the wedding procession, which starts at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery and ends at the Istana Alam Shah gates.
“I am concerned and displeased if too many roads are closed, which could affect the people’s daily goings-on, especially residents in Klang city,” the Sultan said. “I want the people to be able to watch the procession, which is being held for the first time in a comfortable, peaceful setting.”
On September 22, the Ruler announced that Tengku Amir Shah will wed Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz on October 2 at Istana Alam Shah, followed by a reception and banquet on October 22.
Earlier today, Tengku Amir Shah presided over the rehearsal for His Highness’ wedding procession.
