KUALA LANGAT, Sept 20 — 11 staff members from Media Selangor Sdn Bhd took part in the International Coastal Cleanup Day and tree planting event at Pantai Morib today.
The corporate social responsibility programme, organised by the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL), also involved volunteers from several other agencies in activities like tree planting and rubbish collection.
During the event, now in its ninth year, the Media Selangor team collected over 24kg of coastal waste.
The programme was officiated by Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah, accompanied by Tengku Penggawa Muda Paduka Maha Bijaya Orang Besar Daerah Kuala Langat Tengku Mohamed Tengku Harun.
Her Highness, an environmental activist and founder of the #sayno2plastic campaign, collected more than 10kg of rubbish, which she described as her best achievement this year.
International Coastal Cleanup Day is an initiative by the non-governmental organisation Ocean Conservancy and is celebrated every September.
