SHAH ALAM, Aug 26 — The state’s ability to provide for the people, especially economically, has led to a population growth of around two million in the past 10 years.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this rate has been consistent even as the Selangor’s birth rate dwindles.
“When we talk about Malaysia, Selangor is the chosen one, whether for investment, business or other activities. This has been proven by the aggressive growth in resident (numbers).
“This means inbound resident migrations are rather high. Why do they come? Because of high economic opportunity and activity,” he said at the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) excellence awards ceremony here today.

During the event, Amirudin presented awards to 66 of last year’s top performers among PKNS staff, with 16 receiving the inaugural Group CEO’s Special Award.
The ceremony also celebrated 30 long-serving staffers who had been employed at PKNS for 20, 25, or 30 years, as well as 13 who were retiring from the corporation.
