SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 — Selangor’s road paving megaproject that started in April is 75 per cent done, with completion expected early next month.
State executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim said the finished stretches involved 81 locations and 25km of road.
“Overall, 125 (locations that need paving) were identified for this year, involving RM50 million. To date, RM33 million (has been used).
“Paving works are set to be done by the end of this month or early September. This involves roads under the Public Works Department (JKR), Irrigation and Drainage Department (JPS), local councils, and the Land and District Office,” he told Media Selangor.

Izham said the megaproject employs a Jetpatcher machine from the United Kingdom, which patches roads three times faster and needs less manpower.
While tabling the 2025 Selangor State Budget, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced an allocation of RM50 million for the paving megaproject under Infrasel Sdn Bhd, the company that maintains state roads.
Amirudin said the project was activated as the Selangor government is attentive to the people’s complaints about damaged roads, which present safety risks and affect users’ comfort.
