HULU SELANGOR, Oct 13 — In conjunction with the Selangor Environmental Carnival 2024, Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah today named a female baby tapir that was born in July.
His Highness gave the name Langit to the three-month-old Malayan tapir calf, which was born at the Sungai Dusun Tapir Conservation Centre near here.

Tengku Amir Shah was accompanied by state executive councillor for public health and environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin to the third anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council, where His Highness cut pulut kuning with Hulu Selangor Yang Dipertua Julaihah Jamaludin.
Meanwhile, Jamaliah said the celebration aimed to boost the people’s love for the environment.
“The celebration also supported environmental preservation and conservation efforts and serves as a reminder to all about their responsibilities to the Earth and nature,” she said.
