“The Most Sustainable City award is a state government initiative to appreciate the commitment and dedication of all local councils in their efforts to achieve sustainability in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
“Assessment is carried out through the Sustainable City Measurement Implementation Index, which is based on 51 indicators to measure the sustainability level of a city in the respective local council areas,” he said during his speech at the event held in Laman Rekreasi Tasek Tambahan, Ampang.
As for the Happiest City award, Khairulzaman said the winners were evaluated through surveys conducted by the local authorities to measure the well-being of residents, which includes both mental and physical health levels.
“The Happiest City recognition was introduced this year to encourage local councils to further enhance their sustainability levels.
“All three local councils receiving the award today achieved a perfect 100 per cent score on the Happiness Index,” he said.
