SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 — A total of 73 metric tonnes of flood debris have been removed during post-flood clean-up operations in several affected areas, including Kampung Melayu Subang.
KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) said the five-day operation also covered Kampung Kubu Gajah, Merbau Sempak and Kampung Paya Jaras.
The state agency said clean-up works would continue until today to ensure the affected areas are restored to clean, safe and comfortable conditions for residents.
“The integrated clean-up operation involved the deployment of 39 roll-on roll-off (RORO) bins, supported by two additional 16-cubic-yard (CY) RORO bins and a workforce of 60 personnel.
“The operation also received assistance from Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), which provided two additional RORO lorries to enhance clean-up capabilities on the ground,” KDEBWM said in a Facebook post.
KDEBWM said it remained committed to supporting post-flood recovery efforts through the coordination of assets, machinery and manpower with local authorities to ensure affected areas could be restored promptly.
The operation was led by Shah Alam KDEB Operations chief Mohd Rizal Abd Karim, while MBSA was represented by its Public Cleansing and Waste Sustainability Department director Haslina Ab Aziz.

Flash floods struck Kampung Melayu Subang following heavy rainfall of up to 116.5 mm within approximately an hour, causing the river to overflow into residential areas.
The incident affected about 92 houses across four areas: Jalan Jati (50 houses), Lorong Merbau (30), Jalan Cengal (seven) and Jalan Resak (five).
Water levels in residential areas were reported to have reached up to one metre.
