KLANG, Nov 1 — A total of 750 residents of the Sentosa state constituency have received 'Jom Shopping' Deepavali vouchers, aimed at easing their financial burden ahead of the upcoming festival.
Sentosa State Assemblyman Dr Gunaraj George said only 750 recipients were selected based on the quota allocated to the constituency, from the 1,200 applications received.
Dr Gunaraj said this assistance, provided through a State Government initiative, enables eligible families to purchase essential items in preparation for Deepavali.
“Thankfully, the eligible recipients received their vouchers today at NSK, which they can use to purchase necessities for the Deepavali celebration.
“This Selangor State Government initiative is highly meaningful in helping to lighten the financial burden on families, especially as the festive season approaches,” he added.
Dr Gunaraj also expressed his appreciation to the Dato' Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari, for the State Government’s commitment to looking after the welfare of the people.
In a similar development, he added that his office is working to secure additional Deepavali aid to assist those not selected to receive the vouchers.
He expressed hope that this effort would allow more families to benefit from the assistance, enabling them to better prepare for the festive celebrations.
