SUBANG JAYA, Oct 24 — Every policy and initiative introduced by the Selangor government is designed with the people’s interests and well-being in mind, rather than just to simplify administrative processes, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He added that this principle is reflected in various state initiatives, including Speed Selangor and the 100-Day Policy introduced under the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) and strengthened under the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2), to ensure public services meet the people’s needs.
Amirudin said the approach is especially important in ensuring government policies and services address the needs of Selangor’s multiracial population.
“How should we act? We solve problems. How do we explain and take steps towards solutions? We must make use of them together.
“The same goes for the client charter. It is not just a guideline, but the clients we deal with need to understand it. This is important for us to communicate. We know our capabilities and capacities, and our clients understand.
“This is the point of the people’s well-being. We try what we can, do our very best to satisfy the people,” he said when officiating the Selangor Metamorphosis Appreciation Ceremony, held in conjunction with the Selangor State Innovation Awards (AINS), at Hilton Shah Alam Glenmarie last night.
He added that the government must keep adapting its service delivery methods to address increasingly complex global challenges, including climate change, artificial intelligence (AI), economic uncertainty and technological advancements.
“We need to act more swiftly, understand the needs of the people and find effective solutions. As the world changes, service delivery must also change and keep being improved,” Amirudin said.
