KUALA LUMPPUR, Oct 18 — Exposure to a wide range of companies and job opportunities across various sectors has become a key draw of the SCOUT Talent Expo, held in conjunction with the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, particularly for students and job seekers.
For Noor Afiqa Farisha Mohd Faris, 21, and Nur Ainna Jannah Rohadi, 21, both second year students at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), the expo provided an opportunity to explore industrial training (internship) prospect well in advance.
They learned about SCOUT from their lecturers, who encouraged them to attend the expo to gain insight into different industries and secure early exposure to the professional working world.
“Although we are only in our second year of study, we were interested in learning more about this career expo and exploring potential opportunities.
“We did not expect there to be so many companies beyond just the well-known names and there are actually a lot of opportunities here,” they told Media Selangor yesterday.
Afiqa and Ainna added that the expo helped open students’ eyes to a diverse range of career options, while also assisting them in preparing well in advance for their future entry into the workforce.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Clemence Christopher said he learned about SCOUT after the organizers set up a booth at his university, which prompted him to attend in search of an industrial training (internship) placement.
“What caught my interest is that, as a final-year student, I am currently looking for a company to apply to for an internship. I am excited because so many major companies are participating in this expo,” he said.
Christopher believes that industrial growth within the semiconductor sector has the potential to create more job opportunities, in line with the increasing participation of companies and investors in the business ecosystem.
He noted that events like SCOUT provide attendees with exposure to industry developments and various opportunities that they can explore based on their individual interests and qualifications.

For 25-year-old Muhammad Haziq Ilmam Haslizan, who already has two years of work experience, his visit to SCOUT was driven by the desire to find new opportunities to further develop his professional experience and skills.
His interest in the semiconductor sector was also a motivation to attend the expo to learn more about relevant companies and the opportunities they offer.
“I found out about SCOUT through a friend, as I am currently looking for a job. I believe expos like this are among the best opportunities to find a new job and broaden one’s experience,” Haziq said.
Face-to-face meetings with company representatives make it easier for job seekers to obtain information regarding the requirements and qualifications for a specific position, compared to relying solely on online searches.
“Sometimes, it can be quite difficult to find a job online. By attending an expo like this, we can meet directly with company representatives and ask about their requirements,” he said.
Haziq described SCOUT as a platform that job seekers should leverage to explore new opportunities, build a professional network, and plan their career development.
