SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — Education institutions under the Selangor State Education Department (JPNS) are to stay open tomorrow, but outdoor activity has been suspended due to the haze.
In a statement today, JPNS encouraged students to use masks to limit their exposure to the smog.
It said parents worried about their children’s health may keep them home, but must inform schools of the kids’ absences.
“To ensure school communities’ health, (JPNS) and administrators will consistently monitor Air Pollutant Index (API) readings from the Environment Department periodically and pay special attention to high-risk students.
“Parents and guardians are advised to refer to (JPNS) or schools’ official communication channels to obtain verified, latest information,” read the statement.
