KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — The remains of the late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali were transported from the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 10.48am today to her residence in The Mines, Seri Kembangan.
A Bernama observation at the IJN grounds found a sombre atmosphere as the vehicle carrying the remains of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s wife left the medical centre for her home.
Among those seen at IJN included her children, Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir and Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
Police personnel and IJN security guards were stationed at the entrance to manage the crowd and ensure smooth traffic flow. Media personnel were also present.
As of now, IJN has not issued any statement regarding the passing of the late Dr Siti Hasmah.
Earlier, she was confirmed to have passed away at IJN this morning at the age of 100.
