SHAH ALAM, Sept 22 — All Sarawak areas besides Kapit and Limbang have recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings of above 101, as other towns nationwide edge into moderate and good readings.
The highest API reading in Malaysia was recorded in Sri Aman (179), followed by Sibu (176) and Mukah (170).
Kapit logged an API reading of 97 while Limbang recorded 96.
In Selangor, all towns had moderate readings of 51-100, with the highest in Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam at 78, followed by Johan Setia (77), Klang (64), Banting (58), and Kuala Selangor (57).
Meanwhile, five areas had good API readings of 0 to 50, namely, Terengganu’s Kuala Terengganu (49) and Besut (47), Pahang’s Jerantut (49), Perlis’ Kangar (39), and Kedah’s Langkawi (37).
