KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 — Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) is seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down the family members or acquaintances of a patient who has been receiving treatment at the hospital since Aug 17.
HKL said the patient, who goes by the name ‘Thambirajan’, was admitted to the Emergency and Trauma Department after suffering a stroke, but was not carrying any identification documents and was unable to provide further information about himself.
“An investigation by the HKL Medical Social Work Department also found that the patient was unable to provide his full name and identification card number,” HKL said in a statement.
The HKL Medical Social Work Department also referred the patient to the National Registration Department (NRD) to obtain further information on his identity, but checks found that the patient’s details did not match any NRD records.
HKL, therefore, urged the patient’s family members or acquaintances to come forward or contact the hospital immediately for further discussion to ensure that the patient’s treatment and subsequent care can proceed smoothly.
