SEPANG, Sept 20 — A Bangladeshi man who behaved aggressively and disturbed passengers at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 on Thursday (September 17) is suspected of having mental health issues.

KLIA district police chief ACP M. Ravi said the man had shouted loudly and disturbed passengers at an airline counter at KLIA Terminal 1 at 4.40pm.

“Terminal security personnel who arrived to bring the situation under control took the suspect to the Terminal 1 police station for further action.

“During the cooling-off period, the suspect was observed to be unable to control himself and acted aggressively. He was subsequently taken to the Kajang Hospital and admitted to the psychiatric ward for further treatment,” he said.

Ravi added that investigations found the 26-year-old man was scheduled to board a flight back to Bangladesh at 10.20pm on the same day.

“The Embassy has also been informed of the incident,” he said.

Ravi advised the public against speculating about the incident to prevent the spread of false information that could cause public distress, particularly while at KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
