SHAH ALAM, Sept 18 — The search for another fisherman still missing off One Fathom Bank near Pulau Ketam was suspended at 7pm, to resume at 7am tomorrow, said Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Selangor operations officer Nur Affiq Nor Hisham.
He said that as of 5.42pm, rescuers found no new leads on the whereabouts of Raja Muhd Rozi, who is the final victim of a Sunday boat capsize still missing.
“For this fifth day, the victim still hasn’t been found.
“The main challenge of the team right now is the haze limiting visibility, and complicating search efforts using sea and air assets, plus storms in several areas,” he said when contacted by Media Selangor.
On Sunday, a boat carrying six anglers and a skipper is believed to have capsized in waters off Klang after being hit by waves of up to 4m, in the middle of a storm.
The search was launched when police received a report at around 2.30am on Monday when the boat didn’t return after leaving Sementa Jetty in Sungai Kapar, Klang.
Initial investigations revealed that the boat set sail at 8.20am Sunday and was due to return that afternoon.
