SHAH ALAM, Sept 17 — A proposal has been put forward to relocate a public field approved by the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) to a site in front of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Bangi to provide students with easier access to the sports and recreational facility.
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman said the proposal followed requests from parents for the school to have a more accessible field facility.
He said the public field has been approved and included in the council’s development plan, but its original location is relatively far from the school.
“I propose relocating the field in front of SJKT Bangi. The proposal does not involve increasing the total land area but we only relocate it, so that it can benefit the residents as well as students,” he told Media Selangor.
Papparaidu said the facility can be shared by the school and the local community, with students using it on school days and residents having access when there are no school activities.
“I made the proposal based on a similar implemention in Section 18, Shah Alam, which allowed the public field there to be shared by the school and the community.
“I see this as a win-win solution for all,” he said.
Recently, Papparaidu chaired a coordination meeting with relevant authorities regarding the land status of SJKT Bangi.
He said the proposal to relocate the field still requires the developer’s agreement and hoped for an immediate resolution.
