SHAH ALAM, Sept 13 — A total of 24 compounds and one inventory action were recorded during an Integrated Hawker Census Operation conducted by the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) around Gombak on Sept 10.
The operation was carried out by MPS through its enforcement department in collaboration with the licensing department to inspect and conduct a census of hawker activities in the area.
“The operation aims to ensure that the operation of premises and related activities comply with the regulations and conditions set by MPS.
“Following the enforcement action, 24 compounds and one inventory action were recorded, bringing the total to 25 enforcement actions,” it said in a Facebook statement.
Following the operation, seven complaints were also received and followed up, including complaints submitted through the Urban Beautification and Environmental Committee Meeting and the Public Complaints Management System (SISPAA).
MPS said it would continue conducting operations and monitoring from time to time to ensure hawker activities within its administrative area comply with the regulations.
The efforts also aim to ensure hawker activities do not affect the interests, safety and comfort of the public.
