SUBANG JAYA, Sept 8 — Selangor bagged three gold medals in tenpin bowling at Para Malaysia Games (Para SUKMA) 2026 at Sunway Mega Lanes, Bandar Sunway, here today.
The achievement also saw the host contingent secure one silver and one bronze medal in several events contested.
Selangor’s first gold was won by Nor Suhaili Yusuf in the women’s TPB8 (wheelchair) singles event after accumulating 716 points.
Rosheedey Faizal Roslan then added to the host contingent’s gold medal tally by winning the men’s TPB8 singles event with 1,144 points.
The pairing of Muhamad Amin Abd Rashid and Syazwan Akmal Yahya completed Selangor’s three-gold haul by winning the open TP910 + TPB10 (physical disability) doubles event with 2,197 points.
Meanwhile, Nadia Syafika Abdul Rahman contributed a silver medal in the open TP9 (leg disability) singles event.
Ahmad Nazri Mohd Hashim also won a bronze medal for Selangor in the men’s TPB8 singles event, completing the contingent’s five-medal haul in tenpin bowling.
Para SUKMA, which began on Sept 5, features 369 events across 10 sports — swimming, athletics, badminton, table tennis, tenpin bowling, lawn bowls, archery, chess, boccia and powerlifting.
The Selangor contingent is led by Lim Yi Wei and is targeting 60 gold medals, while also aiming to emerge overall champions in this edition.
