IDRISS development begins with more than 200 factories set to operate

KUALA LANGAT, Sept 8 — More than 200 industrial units at the NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) here have received vacant possession (VP), marking the commencement of the first development under the Integrated Development Region in Southern Selangor (IDRISS).

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the development of the industrial park is significant and reflects strong market demand for industrial areas in strategic locations.

“Today is the key handover for Phase 1 of NSIP, which we launched in April 2023. With the handover of the keys today, everything has been completed.

“More than 200 factories will begin operations at any time. Last November, we launched Phase 2, which has already received planning permission from the local authority.

“I believe this development will move at a faster pace from here. This area is part of IDRISS, and it is not merely a plan on paper. We have already implemented it, and we are very proud,” he told a press conference today.

Earlier, he officiated the Phase 1 VP handover ceremony of NSIP, which was also attended by state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han and Selangor deputy state secretary (development) Dato’ Johary Anuar.

At the same event, Amirudin launched Phase 2 of NSIP and witnessed the exchange of a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) between NCT Alliance, SIRIM Bhd and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

NSIP, located in Tanjung Dua Belas, is Malaysia’s first managed industrial park equipped with 5G technology and green-certified, covering 910 acres under IDRISS.

The NSIP ecosystem will feature a Smart Command Centre, smart building management systems and integrated digital solutions, as well as a Centralised Labour Quarter (CLQ) managed using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

With an estimated overall gross development value (GDV) of RM10.2 billion, NSIP is expected to become a major contributor to economic growth and a strategic industrial corridor in southern Selangor.
