Six areas in Selangor continues to record unhealthy air levels

SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 – Six areas in Selangor continue to record unhealthy levels of the Air Pollution Index (API) readings as of 11pm. 

According to data from the Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) portal, Johan Setia recorded the highest API reading at 185.

The list is followed by Shah Alam with an API reading of 165, Banting (158), Klang (157), Petaling Jaya (155) and Kuala Selangor at 154. 

Meanwhile, the situation remains the same in Sarawak with four areas at very unhealthy levels.

Serian IPD recorded the highest reading in the country at 280, followed by Samarahan (237), Kuching (223) and Sri Aman (209).

Sarikei recorded an API of 191 at unhealthy levels, followed by Mukah at 182, Sibu (179), Samalaju (175), Miri (170) and ILP Miri (168) and Bintulu at 167.

Overall, 31 areas recorded unhealthy APIs, 31 moderate areas and two good areas, while no location recorded hazardous levels.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy and an API above 300 is hazardous.
