Klang traders fined over licensing and public nuisance offences

SHAH ALAM, Sept 4 — Three traders at the Jalan Pelasari night market in Taman Chi Liung were issued compounds for operating without valid licences during an enforcement operation by the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK).

In the same operation in South Klang, MBDK’s Licensing Department and Enforcement Department also issued two notices to traders who failed to provide rubbish bins and maintain cleanliness in their surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, an operation in North Klang involved inspections of five premises found to have failed to renew their business licences.

MBDK said inspections found that only one of the five premises was still operating, while the other four had either closed or relocated.

“The owner of the premises that was still operating was also issued two compounds for causing a public nuisance and obstruction in the area,” it said in a statement today.

A total of five compounds were issued to traders and business owners during the two operations.

MBDK said enforcement operations would continue periodically to ensure traders comply with licensing requirements while maintaining cleanliness and public order.
