SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — The Selangor International Care Summit (SICS), to be held in October in conjunction with the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS), will focus on care economy exhibits, said state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari.
She added that this edition’s concept is different as the previous SICS shaped the care economy and drew domestic and foreign investments.
“We are seeing potential for this industry. We managed to sign a few understanding partnership sessions (MOUs) as strategic collaborations, so this time we’re focusing on the expo.
“We have prepared an exhibit room for visitors to experience and understand more about existing care economy services. We’ll also feature equipment used to care for the elderly, children, and differently abled people,” she told Media Selangor.
Anfaal also said the care economy sector will be more understood, and the industry may be empowered more inclusively and beneficially.
Last year, SICS was held for the first time, featuring a two-pronged economic strategy with the launch of the Selangor Care Network.
In July, Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris said the 10th SIBS this year will feature seven segments — SICS, Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK), Selangor-ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), Selangor Investment Forum (SIF), Selangor Techsphere Summit, and AI and Semiconductor Summit.
