SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — The Selangor Immigration Department (JIM) yesterday detained 140 foreigners in an integrated operation in Petaling and Klang.
It said the operation involved 164 enforcers and the National Registration Department (JPN), National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), and Civil Defence Force (APM).
“The operation, which started at midnight 12am, was carried out following intelligence and monitoring around Subang Jaya and Klang.
“A total of 252 individuals were checked, while 140 foreigners were detained for further investigation into immigration-related offenses.
“Among the offenses identified were under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,” it said in a Facebook statement.
Also present at the operation was JIM Selangor’s top management, while several media representatives were present to cover the enforcement exercise.
“JIM Selangor will continue to enforce the law professionally and with integrity, while strengthening cooperation between agencies to ensure compliance with the law and maintain the safety, security and interests of the community,” it said.
