MamaKerja 2.0 applications resume after NINE app disruption

SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — Applications for MamaKerja 2.0 have reopened after a temporary disruption to the NINE app caused by overwhelming response to the initiative.

In a statement, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, said there was a surge in access to the app within a short period of time after applications opened yesterday.

“To accommodate the surge in traffic and ensure smoother user experience, the NINE technical team has implemented system improvements and optimisation.

“The app is now accessible as usual, and the public can proceed with applying for MamaKerja 2.0,” it posted on Instagram today.

Earlier, MBI said the NINE app recorded more than 16.7 million visits as of 9am today after MamaKerja 2.0 applications opened yesterday.

Several users took to social media to report difficulties completing their applications, especially when entering their addresses.

MBI said it will monitor and enhance the app’s capacity to ensure the platform remains smooth and responsive.

MamaKerja 2.0 will provide RM1,000 in aid to 10,000 working mothers in Selangor, aimed at easing their childcare cost burden.
