KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — Two apps launched by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, have helped contractors manage cash flow problems and assisted the people in their dealings with the state government.
MBI said the SA500 app helps contractors overcome cash flow gaps between project delivery, invoice issuance, and payment receipt, which allows development works to continue while they wait for payment.
“SA500 is the expansion of the shariah-compliant supply chain financing programme Selangor Advance, powered by CapBay.
“It targets around 500 companies and contractors involved in projects under the state government, District and Land Offices, and local authorities across Selangor,” it said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, NINE is an all-in-one app that houses various state government services, including a digital wallet, dealings with local authorities, and access to state aid programmes.
MBI said NINE is the only official app of the state government, and has been active since September 1. It is also the official channel for the state’s public transport subsidy that gives recipients RM30 per month; an initiative that was expanded to include the KTM Komuter service on October 1.
“These two initiatives reflect the state government’s continued efforts to facilitate business and people’s dealings, especially at a time when the global situation is still uncertain,” read the statement.
The apps were launched today by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today. Also present were MBI Group chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M. Yusop and KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd managing director Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir.
NINE, developed by MBI through its subsidiary Selangor E-Wallet, can be downloaded for free on the App Store or Google Play.
CEPat platform users are being transferred in stages to NINE, an effort that started on September 15, as the CEPat service will be terminated on December 31.
In June, state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han reportedly said the Selangor government is planning to integrate various apps into NINE, including assessment rate, quit rent and parking payment services.
