SHAH ALAM, Aug 17 — Kuala Langat has recorded 1,065 dengue cases and one death up to Epidemiological Week 32 this year, with 19 active outbreak locations currently being monitored.

The Kuala Langat District Health Office (PKD) said the active locations consist of three hotspots, one uncontrolled outbreak, and 15 controlled outbreaks.

“Dengue cases are still ongoing and preventive measures need to be carried out continuously. Do not wait until there is a case in your area,” it said on its official Facebook page today.

The three hotspot locations are Blocks B-F of Pangsapuri Langat Utama in Bukit Changgang with 49 cases, followed by Blocks G-H of Pangsapuri Langat Utama, Bukit Changgang with nine cases, and Bandar Seri Ehsan Zone 3, Jalan Besar 4/20-25, with six cases.

Bandar Seri Ehsan Zone 2, Jalan Besar 4/13, 4/15, and 4/22, was classified as an uncontrolled outbreak location with five cases.

The 15 controlled outbreak locations include Block A of Pangsapuri Langat Utama, Bukit Changgang, Taman Kemuning, Pangsapuri Seri Anggerik, Pangsapuri Seri Mawar, Pangsapuri Impian, and several areas in Banting and Telok Panglima Garang.

At the national level, Malaysia has recorded 57,662 dengue cases and 51 deaths. Selangor has reported 25,089 cases and 28 deaths, as of the EW32.

PKD Kuala Langat urged residents to spare ten minutes weekly to carry out spring cleaning activities to eliminate Aedes mosquito breeding grounds.

“Spend 10 minutes every week for Aedes mosquito breeding ground search and destroy activities.

“Cooperation from every individual, family, and community is very important to ensure residential areas remain clean, safe, and free from Aedes mosquito breeding grounds,” it said.

Residents with information or reports related to dengue can contact the Kuala Langat PKD at 03-3187 2355.
