TEMERLOH, Aug 17 — The RM200 Madani tickets for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from October 2 to 4 have sold out, Youth and Sports Minister Mohammed Taufiq Johari said.
He said SIC has reported strong demand for the tickets among Malaysians after sales opened.
“The Madani tickets have sold out as of today, but we will look into whether additional tickets can be made available if there is a need. We will announce any developments from time to time,” he said.
He told reporters this after officiating at the closing ceremony of Innovation Development Through Educational Activities (iDEA’26) and the Eastern Zone Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) roadshow under the Youth and Sports Ministry’s (KBS) Skills Training Institutions (ILKBS) at Dewan Tun Razak here.
Meanwhile, Taufiq said iDEA’26 is not simply an innovation competition, but an avenue for TVET students to nurture their ideas, creativity and expertise and turn them into innovations with commercial potential in local, ASEAN and international markets.
“Their products should go beyond winning competitions and be brought to market. We will assess how they can be further developed and improved before being marketed nationwide,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said KBS is advancing the national TVET agenda through 12 memoranda of understanding signed by skills training institutions and industry partners, aimed at expanding jobs for youth.
“That is the aim of iDEA’26, to develop innovations, create marketable products and nurture new talent, rather than simply win competitions,” Taufiq said.
