SHAH ALAM, Aug 16 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has been given the mandate as party election director to formulate strategies and coordinate workflows for future polls.
Keadilan president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this is to ensure the party’s entire machinery moves as one with clear leadership and direction to prevent the creation of different avenues that could compromise coordination, according to a Harian Metro report.
“Amirudin has been given full mandate to perform tasks for future elections. I told the leadership: there can no longer be subsystems or alternative systems.
“One system, one leadership, one format. Amirudin decides,” Anwar said in his wind-up speech at the Keadilan National Congress at Melaka International Trade Centre today.
The prime minister added that workflow coordination from his office would be managed by his senior political adviser Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
He said Tengku Zafrul, who is also in the Keadilan political bureau, has been entrusted with ensuring smooth coordination between the Keadilan president’s office and party secretariat.
