KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — Three family members were killed after the motorcycle they were on collided head-on with a Perodua Aruz at Jalan Batu 17, Hulu Langat, Kajang this morning.
Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the car driver was arrested after testing positive for drugs.
In the 7.56am incident, the victims, a 34-year-old mechanic, his 32-year-old wife, and their three-year-old son, were confirmed dead at the scene.
Investigations found that the family was travelling from their home in Batu 18, Hulu Langat, towards Nanding when the Perodua Aruz is believed to have entered the motorcycle's lane, causing the collision.
"The impact of the crash caused all three victims to be thrown off the motorcycle. They were pronounced dead at the location," he said in a statement.
Naazron added that checks found the 42-year-old car driver had two previous criminal records related to drug offences. A preliminary urine test also produced a positive result for methamphetamine.
The suspect will be brought to the Kajang Magistrate's Court tomorrow morning for a remand application.

The case is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
