SABAK BERNAM, July 29 — The transformation of Pantai Bumi Hijau at Sungai Haji Dorani has given the popular recreational destination a fresh new look, helping to boost tourism and stimulate the local economy.
Visitor and local resident Aini Saitul Azwin Mazdar, 36, said the beach had undergone significant improvements over the past few years.
"There have been many changes compared with before. Previously, the beach had very few facilities and most people came here only to collect clams. Now, there are many amenities.
"There is a surau, toilets, eateries featuring classic wooden architecture, as well as attractions such as a flying fox, campsite, caravan area and rest huts.
"I hope these facilities will be well maintained so that tourism in this area continues to grow," she told Media Selangor.
Aini said Pantai Bumi Hijau has become increasingly popular with visitors from within and outside the district following the upgrades.
"Many people come here now, especially after the beach was given a new look. It has indirectly helped promote Sabak Bernam as a tourist destination," she said.
Meanwhile, Klang resident Siti Norazwana Malik, 31, who was visiting the beach for the second time, described it as an ideal weekend getaway for families.
"This is my second visit. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxing with family, and visitors can enjoy swimming and taking in the beautiful coastal scenery," she said.
Muhammad Amirul Hakimie Azman, 30, from Teluk Intan, Perak, said the area's traditional village-inspired concept was among its biggest attractions.
"The place is beautiful and has the charm of a traditional village. The shops are designed with a nostalgic touch, giving visitors a unique experience.
"The facilities are complete and there are huts for visitors to rest. I hope the road leading to the beach can be improved to make it more convenient for those travelling from outside the area," he said.
