SHAH ALAM, July 18 — Eligible tenants renting local authority premises in Selangor will automatically receive a 30 per cent rental rebate between July and December.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative, which was introduced under the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 2, will benefit 21,234 traders without requiring any application or complicated procedures.
“With the rent reduction, traders can use the savings as working capital or to cover other business costs.
“Every ringgit saved is like an extra burden lifted, enabling businesses to continue operating, employees to continue receiving salaries, and families to continue prospering,” he said in a Facebook post.
On June 19, when tabling the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 2, Amirudin said RM4.5 million had been allocated for the initiative, with the assistance to be provided automatically without requiring any applications from traders.
The Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package was introduced at the Special Meeting of the Fourth Term of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly as part of the state government’s efforts to address the impact of the global energy and supply chain crisis following the West Asia conflict.
Through the resilience package, the state government introduced several intervention measures to assist the people and business sector in addressing rising costs caused by supply chain disruptions and uncertainties in the global energy market.
